My clients are already successful, healthy and well adjusted people. There is nothing seriously wrong with their lives. They simply have come to a point where they need and want to make some changes and they don’t want to do it alone. The first thing I do is to assess the business by working with the business owners to determine where they are, where they would like to be, and then helping them implement systems and strategies based on what we find that would be the most appropriate for that particular business’s needs (increase profitability, systems, employee training, controls, etc.).
My clients and I assess the business in the five key profit generating areas: Lead Generation, Conversion Rate, Average Dollar Sale, Average Number of Transactions, and Profit Margins. Those areas are highlighted in the following equation:
Lead Generation x Conversion Rate = # Customers
# Customers x Avg. Dollar Sale x Avg. # Transactions = Revenues
Revenues x Profit Margins = $ ProfitsSo basically, I coach the business owner to never ignore this equation for profitability for any business, in any market, in any industry sector. Throughout all of these sectors of business, the equation for profitability stays the same.

What Is The Difference Between Consulting And Coaching?
A consultant considers your problem, arrives at a conclusion and recommends a procedure to resolve the issue. A consultant provides professional advice and service that he or she has developed. Consulting is often narrowly focused on specific issues and methods of solving issues.
Coaching can focus on specific issues, as well. Coaching often expands to encompass the broader scope of the clients' life. A coach communicates with the client primarily using questioning techniques and together, they define the clients' goals. Through the coaching and the process of client-focused self-discovery, the coach and client discover appropriate solutions and activities (ActionPLAN) to ultimately resolve the clients' issues.
In a coaching relationship, client and coach endeavor to uncover and express the client's own answers. Through coaching, a client has the opportunity to acquire new ways of looking at problems and to invent new solutions. In other words, the team of client and coach discover fresh tools that enable the client to create a better life.
Through coaching the client owns the solution, because it is through his or her own process of self discovery that a 're-solution' is discovered. The end result, positive forward action, occurs because of the clients own reasoning assisted by the coaches' questioning and guidance. Values based goal setting and holding the client accountable throughout the process assures maximum commitment to the clients' intention.

Here is a good analogy that illustrates the difference between a business coach and a business consultant:
A business coach will help you understand how and why you ride a bicycle, help you to determine what's holding you back from riding properly, and jog along next to you as YOU ride.
A business consultant will explain why one bike is superior to another, teach you how to ride the bike, and if necessary, ride the bike for you.
Another more humorous analogy that illustrates the difference between a coach and a consultant:
A coach will help you understand how to tell time by gently holding your wrist showing you the features of your watch, asking questions until you clearly understand time and the purpose of the watch.
A consultant will ask you to remove it so he can explain all of the features and benefits of the watch, tell you what time it is and then walk away with your watch.
