Productivity Tips: Clean Up Your Email Mayhem

Ely Delaney's picture

If you use Google's Gmail for your email, you might have seen a new feature they have just released called “Priority Inbox” and I have to say it's just brilliant.

Now, if you don't use Gmail, you can actually set up the same basic idea in just about any email system using filters so pay close attention. It may not be quite as good but it will surely help you get to emails that are important faster and speed up your email time

Find out who Won a New IPAD this week - Survey Results

Norma Huibregtse's picture

Got your attention?  This is a subject title I would use in an email to my customers to increase open rates after a customer survey (offers vary of course).  Why does it matter?  It matters because it helps you peak the curiosity of your customer base to find out who the winner is and  to see a summary of the customer survey results.  They want to know if you are realllllyyyyyy listening to them!  Let's examine ways you can turn up the customer conversation through Surveys.

Justin McGill's picture

Facebook recently announced their newest addition, Facebook Places. Facebook Places is an application that allows users to tag their location or “check in” and create a trail of their locations throughout the day. This application will show users what their friends are doing and where they are. Facebook Places can be accessed from a cell phone and, as always, comments can be made on these location posts.

Customer Service -The Greatest Gift

Sally Liddicoat's picture

One of the biggest mistakes a company can make when dealing with their customers is to only look at the immediate effects of a decision and not take the long term effects into consideration. We all know that it can be very costly to earn the business of a single new customer. Once we have them, we need to keep them -almost at any cost.

How to Contact the Media

Wendy Kenney's picture

Recently somebody shared with me a media list that they had found on the Internet because they thought this media list was a “goldmine.” While I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble, the media list could turn into a "landmine" if not used properly.

9 Tips for Increasing Your Average Sale

Bill Stack, MBA's picture

Getting a few more dollars out of each customer can put startups on a fast track to success.

Walk into any McDonald's, order a Quarter Pounder, and the clerk will invariably ask, "Do you want fries with that?" Each affirmative answer (BECAUSE the question was asked FIRST) adds $1 or more to that particular sale. If just a fraction of McDonald's' 54 million daily customers say yes to that question, that's millions of extra dollars in the burger maker's pocket.

Music to my Ears

When I was in middle school I played the flute. Not because I was exceptionally attached to the flute but because we never had any “cool” instruments like guitar and drums, albeit the sax is a pretty hot instrument (just ask Bill Clinton!).

What If You Received $86,400 Everyday?

Imagine a bank that credited your account with $86,400 every day. Each night the bank cancels whatever is left in the account… whatever you failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Surely you would strive to spend every cent, every day!

Commentary on the Stresses in our World

David Cooke's picture

There are a lot of people in this world who are under a tremendous amount of stress.  Everyday I have at least one conversation with someone who is unemployed, suffering from job insecurity, in financial distress, or fearful about the failures or struggles in their business.

It is not enough to simply say, "you are not alone."

Mindset, Attitude, Mentality, Philosophy - Tells what you will do (and what you won't do) to achieve true biz success

Bill Stack, MBA's picture

After meeting with business owners that are making fortunes in this economy and with people who are struggling, it becomes clear that TOP difference between these two groups of business owners is their respective attitudes.

Sometimes, since there is so much "news" that tells us how bad things are that business owners forget to look at the big picture.

They hear that there is a crisis and begin to believe it.  Therein lies their downfall from that moment until and unless that belief changes back to reality...

Four Metrics to Productive Activity

David Cooke's picture

When it comes to sales, the ultimate yardstick is results. In today’s environment, I hear a lot of chatter about people being busy. People talk about all their proposal, meeting, phone call, and email activities and say very little about sales results or new customers. They mainly say little about their results because they are busier than ever not closing deals. There is a big difference between activity and results. Are you busy on the right things?
